My coworker runs standup like it’s a courtroom deposition and we are the defendants.
Every morning at 9:30 we do “standup.” Normal teams: quick updates. This man? He treats it like a trial.
He calls on people in an order he invented. If you hesitate, he stares at you like you just lied under oath.
“Let’s unpack that.”
Sir I am unpacking TRAUMA.
If you say “blocked,” he asks what you did to become blocked, what you learned spiritually from being blocked, and what your mitigation strategy is for future blockages.
Then he says, “Let’s take that offline,” but he never does. He takes it *online*, in Slack, in a thread, with bullet points, and a follow-up meeting.
I’m not employed. I’m being studied.
