HR told us to “stop gossiping” then immediately asked for details like it was a podcast.
HR called a meeting about “workplace culture.”
She says, “We need to stop engaging in rumors.”
Then, without blinking:
“So who exactly said it? And what time? And was it in writing?”
MA’AM.
She had a notepad ready. She had follow-up questions. She asked if anyone “could just give a quick summary” of the situation. I’m looking at her like… you’re not stopping anything. You are CURATING.
Then she says, “This is a safe space.”
No it is not. It is a conference room with fluorescent lighting and consequences.
If HR is asking “just for clarity,” baby they’re collecting receipts. Speak wisely.
