My manager scheduled a “quick sync” at 4:59pm like he hates families.
There’s a special place in the underworld for people who schedule meetings at 4:59.
He calls it a “quick sync.” It is never quick. It is a slow emotional draining where he reads the agenda out loud like we can’t see the screen.
When someone says, “I have to jump,” he says, “Just one more thing,” and then he opens a brand new topic like a jump-scare.
Today he ended it with, “Thanks everyone, great energy.”
Energy where? I’m a husk.
If you love your team, stop treating the end of the day like a suggestion.
